Who am I?

I have been catching up on my favorite blogs this morning and a couple of them have gotten me to thinking.  One of them asked about hiding faith and the other talked about writing in their BoS.

I came out of the broom closet about 5 minutes after I realized I was a something other than what I had been raised.  I did not yet have a name to put on it per se, but I knew I was not mainstream.  If you have been reading here for the past month or so, you know the gist of my story.

I did not rush to tell my family as they lived 1200 miles away and it did not come up..."So, has has the weather been?  Oh by the way, I'm a witch."  But, there came a time when it seemed appropriate and I told my sister.  No one made a big fuss, no one contacted the church on how to "save" me (at least not that I was aware of), they just accepted it.  Of course, there were questions, but I had figured that.

I have been fortunate in that I have not experienced open hostility.  The one person who condemned me was the mother of my last poor excuse for a husband and that was no surprise to me.  I always knew that she was a closed-minded hypocrite before that anyway, so it was no skin off my nose.

So, who am I?

I am a:

wife
mother
daughter
nurse
witch

I do not need a building to worship in, I have the mountains as my cathedral.

I do not need a man in front of a congregation talking at me, I have the wind to whisper in my ear.

I do not need a baptismal font to anoint me as a child of god, I have streams which talk to me.

I do not need hellfire and damnation, I have a burning passion to follow my heart.

I do not need the holy ghost to guide me, I have my spirit guides to show me the way.

I believe that the goddess is all around us.

In perfect love and perfect trust!
